Winter Soccer Camp ![]()
The PHSA held our 1st
annual Winter Soccer Camp at the Fralic Center, with great success. The camp was run by Duquesne University
soccer team coaches, Jake Ouimet and Mike Dumphy. The camp was set up to run each age group for one hour each Saturday
in January & February, for a total of eight weeks. We had almost 60 players attend! The players were split into their age groups
and introduced to new drills to hone their soccer skills. At the end of each session, they played
scrimmage matches.
What a great way to get the kids
out of the house in the winter, and get warmed up for our in-house spring
session. The players learned a lot and
had a ton of fun. Players and parents
alike, commented this was a great camp and hoped there would be a 2nd
annual winter camp. Everyone will be
happy to know that we intend to hold the winter camp again next year!
A special “thank you” goes out
to Jake and Mike for their awesome coaching skills, to Mike Ferraco, Jamey
Pileggi, Josh Weiss of the Penn Hills High School Boys Varsity Soccer Team) for
volunteering their time, and to PHSA’s own Greg Ferraco, who organized the
winter camp session.
